Wandering Elk Co.

FAQ

Are cork soft goods durable?

The honeycomb cell structure of cork makes it an excellent insulator: thermally and acoustically. The high friction coefficient of cork means also that it is durable in situations where there is regular rubbing and abrasion. That’s why cork is a go-to material for a wide range of products.

How long does the Wandering Elk harness last?

Cork fabric is durable to medium to heavy abrasion, and the fabric backing gives strength to the material. The hardware we use is very sturdy, so they will last you a lifetime, even if you carry them daily.

How do you best care for cork products?

Keeping the cork bags clean can be easy, simply dip a small hand towel into warm water (mixed with a little bit mild soap) and rub the stains or black marks off the cork surface.

Can I wash cork products, is it waterproof?

Yes, cork is waterproof, you can get it wet without fear. Think about the wine stopper. But we don’t suggest dipping cork bags in the water for a long time, or in the washing machine because the cork fabric is attached to a textile backing using a water-based adhesive.
